We’re
Here to Help
It's not easy for parents to see their newborn baby immersed in the high-tech,
fast-paced world of the hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). New parents
eagerly look forward to bringing their baby home, so it can be frightening if your newborn needs
to be admitted to the NICU. Some parents have described the NICU experience as
an exhausting, confusing, emotional roller coaster of anguish and hope.
Today's NICU's are wonders
of high technology and high touch caring, addressing the needs of critically ill
babies, premature newborns or infants requiring close observation. But babies
in the NICU face challenges that most of us will never have to deal with. For
parents, the challenges are equally formidable.
Our Neonatal Intensive
Care Unit Case Managers, Care Coordinators and Physician Neonatologists interface with the
physicians, nurses and the team of medical and clinical specialists who care for your
child while in the NICU. Our primary function is to review your baby's medical
information, identify discharge needs and communicate those needs to your insurer or medical
group. We assist in obtaining authorization for any needs that your baby may require
prior to the day of discharge.
The
CareNex Health Services Neonatal Intensive Care
Unit Team is led by our highly-experienced Physician Neonatologists and
onsite Case Managers and Care Coordinators.
Our physician Medical Directors are all Board-Certified neonatologists,
while our neontal Case Managers and Care Coordinators all have a
minimum of five years of Level III in-hospital NICU experience.
